Among the many not-to-miss summer experiences in NYC is a free outdoor movie in the park. If your kids are old enough to start a movie after sundown, make it a family affair (or date night)! Invite your friends, pack a picnic, and arrive early to catch the sunset! (Bonus: We recommend a packable legless chair for back support if you have one.)
Here's what's on tap for free in Summer 2026:
Schedule includes NYC Parks Movies Under The Stars, Rooftop Films, Brooklyn Bridge Park Movie Under The Stars, Town Square BK Summerstarz Movies, Rooftop Films, Movie Nights in Domino Square, Bond with Bklyn Blockbusters, and Charlotte Backyard Movie Nights! More outdoor movie series to be announced soon! Bookmark this article and check back!
Not sure if a movie is appropriate for your kiddo? Pro tip: check Common Sense Media for age recommendations.
